2.40 – #3 Fantasy Fry
Found its way of handling things lately, showing improvement now moved to sellers and claimers under Hayley Turner and should get involved in this run as well.  Weighted to handle, last two starts well conducted earning him a win on course and though yet to prove distance showed a spark in his last 7f run. Biggest threat Honkers Bonkers now N/R which is a big plus for him allowing him room to breath and prove once more he’s superior to Local Diktator with the slight help of a better draw position. Also opposed by So Is She, fav for this race, but doubts for her as now running bigger field than couple latest starts of 3 runners. Hayley Turner mount the 3 year old for again, showing promising stats for both course and distance and should lead well.

3.10 – #4 Monsieur Jamie
Course and distance winner, excuses for latest poor running coming off a two months break and running under heavy weights. A Southwell player, weighted well for this run. Greg Fairley on board, same mount for latest Southwell win and 2nd placing in December, jockey shows good stats for both course and distance suggesting strong chances for this team up. Tough field, opposed by Sugar Beet and Restless Bay but since both yet to prove on surface chances for  Monsieur Jamie to beat this couple. Also threatened by Je Suis Unrockstar but this contender shows inconsistency and doubts if  this is where he’ll put an end to his losing run.

4.40 – #6 First Blade
Below best of late but shown a hint of promise in his last where coming 4th. Course and distance in his far past performance, perhaps this time a chance for him to improve.  Came 4th last battle vs. Final Salute and possible to reverse form now as both weighted the opposite of last trial. Drawn well and should benefit from it. Graham Gibbons on board, last time booked resulted with an impressive 2nd, jockey shows good stats for both course and distance and is destined to lead the 5 year old.

3.00 – #4 Blue Cossack
In decent form since last winning seller, top rated runner with high speed figures at his side. Drawn well and should benefit such starting position, weights are well within the reasonable boundaries of his abilities with distance skills already proven. Liam Keniry on board, same mount for latest 2nd placing, though no appealing strike rate for this jockey under conditions there are reasons to believe this team up has more than just a chance at landing this race.

3.30 – #2 Residency
In good form of late except for coming 9th one grade higher, now running class 6 again where seems to handle well. Proven on distance and made clear he’s in for carrying current weights as running 2nd under 9-8 in his last. Will battle Ridley Didley and Sharp Shoes as was beaten to a 3rd by these about a month ago and now faces the same challenge but enjoys a better draw and as weights are balanced same as their last trial should be able to overpower them. Adam Carter on board, been mount the 5 year old in all of his last 6 starts conducting fair running, shows a nice striking rate for both course and distance under age conditions so a good race ahead this team up.

4.00 – #5 Money Money Money
Fair runner on decent form now improved with blinkers on and teamed up with James Millman, and should get involved in this competitive field.  Proven to handle distance though yet to acquire a win, weights are a bit rough on her, so is the wide draw however has already handled such draw with good results and will bare the weights properly. Opposed by Setter’s Princess as last trial came 3rd to Setter’s Princess, but now as the latter significantly up in weights should have a chance of leaving her behind. No out of the ordinary strike rate for jockey’s course and distance but all stable mates running into form in the last two weeks suggests strong possibilities for this mare.

2.10 – #2 Bodie
Not a natural to back, however recent improvement suggests he’s due to get involved again. Applied blinkers in the last two starts made their difference aiding the 3 year old colt in placing 2nd and 3rd and are on for this run as well.  Should appreciate the extra furlong and the drop in grade but wide draw, weights up and inexperienced jockey makes it hard to fancy. A strong runner nevertheless, perhaps needed a bit of time to evolve and is now ready to show himself.

2.40 – #1 Ad Vitam
Modest form of late however still a spark of enthusiasm here and there and shouldn’t be ignored. Shown abilities on both course and distance and progressing well to hold on to his recent form, drawn well though small field and should carry on weights. Big advantage for the 3 year old with Liam Keniry on board, had him in recent seller win and bares a handsome strike rate for both course and runner’s age. Trainer horses all ran into form in the course of the last two weeks suggesting he’s got more to offer.

3.10 – #1 Satwa Gold
Both course and distance under her wing, a strong runner coming off the bad side recently and should bounce back in this run. Weighted up but have carried such before, compensated by a drop in grade. George Baker on board for the first time, a change of jockey which should rise awareness to the chances of this team up. Jockey has fine strike rate on both course and distance as well as runner’s age.

Wolverhampton

2.30- #4 Desert Strike
Course and distance winner and a keen Wolverhampton player who faces a challenging trial here however not one which he can’t handle and though far from dwelling on consistency seems now as if he’s more than ready to battle in current grade . Took on Six Wives 5 days ago beating her by length and a half and should do the same here, big advantage. Doubts regarding the weights which are up a bit but and the draw which is fairly wide, nevertheless the 5 year old has shown abilities to handle under such conditions and with Shane Kelly on board who lead him a win last time should go well. Serious threat from Island Legend, hopefully to be held by the weights.

3.30 – #4 Sioux Rising
Done well in her last two starts and proven to handle polytrack. First time running a small runner race which is a big advantage for her, nicely dropped in weights since last grade 4 run and should have more to breath as a result. No blinkers or cheekpieces this time, a change in trainer approach should suggest the following. Ridden by Frederik Tylicki, same mount for her 1 length 3rd to Ebraam in her last and with these improved conditions will be able to lead well. Dubai Hills the leading in this race but as he claims for a 5 timer chances of becoming the beaten fav significantly increase.

Course and distance winner and an obvious Wolverhampton player now back to run grade 5. Well drawn, though small field, and weighted fairly to allow her to get involved. Graham Gibbons on board the 4 year old, had her in more than half her lifetime starts delivering some nice results which suggest chances for this team up once more. Opposed by Layal’s Dancer however first in Wolverhampton so doubts he’ll get in there. Also threatened by Sweet Origin who’s a fresh maiden breaker and so doubts for him.

2.40 – #2 Fruity O’rooney
Running well in his last three starts and though placing 2nd in all of them now stands a good chance of landing this chase as the strong fav As De Fer is N/R. Course and distance under his wing, will appreciate the drop back in trip to 2m 6 furlong under same weights where running 3m 1 furlong and 3m 2 furlong in his last two, and could may well be treated as being dropped in the weights. Opposed by Lord Ragnar and Pouvoir but is a bit more consistent than these two. Jamie Moore on board, had him for three starts only but managed to deliver a win and two 2nd placing, suggesting chances for this team up.

3.10 – #4 Pete The Feat
Course and distance winner (separately) and holds a peak form in his last 4 races. Significantly dropped in weights due to rise in grade which should give him an edge. Teamed up with Felix De Giles who has three wins out of three starts with the 7 year old suggesting the chances for this run. Was beaten by Massini Sunset at around early January but as the latter seems out of frame lately and also heavy weighted, chances are for Pete to overpower.

4.45 – #1 Dune Shine
Course and distance winner, landed a fine win in his last here a month ago and should go well once more. Beat Sun Quest last time and as conditions favor Dune there is no doubt the two would go close with a slight advantage for Dune. Leighton Aspell on board, had him only twice but managed to snatch a nice 3rd last year and broke maiden for the 6 year old his last proving he knows his way with this jumper.
